Intensive Outpatient Program for Eating Disorders
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a group based day program specifically designed for adults and adolescents (age 16 and older) who need either more support than just individual therapy or are stepping down from a higher level of care (inpatient, residential) and would benefit from a step-down treatment approach. Throughout the program, participants are encouraged to approach their healing journey from a mind, body, and spirit approach.
Participants meet three to four days per week and receive meal support, nutrition education, somatic resourcing, spiritual guidance, yoga and other movement therapies. Additional skills taught include DBT, CBT/ACT. While in the IOP, participants continue to work individually with a therapist, dietitian and medical provider. Weekly collaboration will occur (with the appropriate consent) with all providers outside of Water’s Edge CHC.
For individuals who need even more support and are experiencing significant symptoms of depression and/or anxiety, there is an option to add the Day Treatment Program for Depression/Anxiety to the IOP and individual therapy. This combination of programs can assist individuals with stabilizing symptoms of the eating disorder while simultaneously targeting the symptoms of depression and anxiety that are often triggers for maintenance of eating disorder symptoms.
All individuals seeking treatment will receive a
comprehensive psychological assessment to assist in creating
an individualized treatment plan to meet your needs.
