Amanda Young, Psy.D., LP
Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Young received her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego in 1999. In 2004, she received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology. She completed her APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at the Texas Tech University Student Counseling Center. Dr. Young has experience providing individual, couple, family, and group therapy in a variety of settings, including both inpatient and outpatient. She has experience working with a variety of presenting issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, grief and loss, psychosis, personality disorders, and eating disorders. Dr. Young has provided a range of assessments including personality, cognitive, behavioral disorder, ADHD, and pre-bariatric. She has experience facilitating groups in depression, anxiety, anger management, social skills, mindfulness, domestic violence, and process groups. She currently provides individual, family, and group therapy at Water's Edge CHC. Dr. Young is open to integrating Christian beliefs into therapy at the request of her patients.
