Reports to: Clinical Manager

Status: Full-time employee

Location:  In-person/on-site

Position Summary: The IOP Lead Therapist is responsible for day-to-day oversight of staffing, program curriculum and client care.  This position collaborates with the Clinical Manager to offer comprehensive treatment to our clients in need of an IOP level of care.

Duties:
IOP:

  • Lead daily process groups and assist in the planning and facilitation of other groups as needed, ensure adequate staffing and work with the Clinical Manager to adjust staffing due to census as needed. Hold responsibility for decision-making process in the event of crisis situation within IOP program and provide program/team support. Work with Clinical Manager to evaluate and modify curriculum as appropriate and ensure all curriculum aligns with the Company’s approach to care (30%)
  • Screens and coordinates new referrals for the program, ensure completion of all necessary steps to successfully onboard new admissions and discharge clients from the program while ensuring compliance with all regulatory policies and procedures throughout a client’s course of care.  This includes but is not limited to clinical documentation and coordination of care requirements (5%)
  • Complete daily billing of services, attendance records and authorizations requests as needed and according to Companies policies and procedures. Review clinical charting of all services provided by IOP team members including but not limited to daily progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries to ensure compliance with state and federal rules and regulations as well as medical necessity, insurance requirements and ethical requirements.  Sign and lock all daily notes for IOP or, if unlicensed alert the Clinical Manager that notes are ready for signature and locking. (5%)
  • Maintain an outpatient caseload equivalent to Company’s productivity requirements and conduct outpatient therapy according to Company’s policies and procedures. Provide clinical supervision for supervisees.   (55%)
  • Perform other duties as assigned (5%)

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Psychologist (Ph.D., Psy.D. or M.A.), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Minnesota.
  • Must have experience running psychotherapy groups; individual psychotherapy experience preferred
  • Team supervision and leadership experience preferred
  • Related clinical experience (eating disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma) preferred
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards governing care delivery and operations

Location:  Hybrid–remote and on-site

This position is for the Adult IOP Depression/Anxiety/Trauma IOP which has a Christian Integration component to it. The IOP is virtual.  This position also allows for a part-time outpatient caseload which would be in-person and virtual.

Company: Water’s Edge Counseling & Healing Center (WECHC) is an outpatient mental health center with specialties in the treatment of eating disorders, depression, anxiety and/or trauma. General Purpose

We are looking for a MN licensed provider to join our adult outpatient services team and to provide Christian integration services when requested by clients.  Services include individual psychotherapy for clients presenting with mood disorders, anxiety, stress, trauma and/or eating disorders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct psychotherapy (in-person and telehealth) with assigned outpatient caseload and enter relevant clinical documentation regarding all services in the client’s electronic medical record according to Company’s policies and procedures.
  2. Provide care from a trauma-informed/trauma-responsive perspective as well as provide integration of Christian principles and practices as desired by the client.
  3. Conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments according to Company’s policies and procedures.
  4. Create individualized treatment plans with specific and measurable goals in with assigned clients.
  5. Attend and participate in weekly case consultations.
  6. There are opportunities for additional responsibilities (including but not limited to participation in Intensive Outpatient Programs and or supervision of mental health practitioners and/or interns).
  7. Participate in team meetings and trainings.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree or higher in Mental Health related programs
  • Minnesota Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with experience in individual psychotherapy
  • Knowledge of or interest in working with eating disorders, depression, anxiety and/or trauma
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the impacts of trauma and evidenced based treatment of trauma
  • Training and experience with EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (or other trauma oriented approached to care) preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of the Christian faith and experience with integration of Christian principles and practices into the therapeutic process is required
  • Skilled in clear and concise verbal and written communication
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as effectively on a team
