Family Based Eating Disorder Treatment
Family Based Treatment (FBT) is the leading evidenced-based approach to help families with adolescents struggling with eating disorders. FBT is based on the belief that parents play an important role in the treatment of eating disorders and are an integral part of the treatment team. The aim of FBT is to equip parents with the tools to help their loved one recover and return to normal life. The program includes weekly individual family based therapy sessions, family group therapy, dietitian appointments, and psychiatric care (if needed). In addition, our team works closely with medical providers, schools, and case workers to provide complete and full care to each individual client and family.
Multi-Family, Family Based Eating Disorder Group
(Meets Thursday Nights)
Multiple families with an adolescent with an eating disorder learn and heal together. This group is a form of family therapy designed to assist parents in helping their child restore to a normal weight and develop a healthy relationship with food. The group consists of supported family meals, eating disorder education, skill training, communication techniques and nutrition education. The group serves as a place to connect, support and heal along with other families with similar needs.
