Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program/Day Treatment for Eating Disorders
Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating Disorder, Eating Disorder NOS
(Meets 3-4 days/week for 3 hours)
The Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program/Day Treatment for Eating Disorders is specifically designed for adolescents age 13-18. This program includes a daily education/skills teaching group, emotional support group and a monitored, supportive meal. Additionally there is a weekly nutrition education group and a non-denominational spiritual concepts group. Skills and educational teachings are pulled from a variety of treatment modalities including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-Expanded (CBT-E), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Life Skills (similar to those of DBT).
Parents and caretakers are an integral part of the recovery process for adolescents. We recognize the important role they play in treatment as well as the unique difficulties associated with having a loved one with an eating disorder. For these reasons, we offer a weekly, one hour parent/caretaker group during the IOP/Day Treatment program hours, to assist with the healing process.
Adolescent Eating Disorder Group: (1 hour 1x weekly)
This group is designed to meet the needs of teenagers in need of a step-down from Intensive Outpatient Program or as a complement to individual therapy sessions. Peer support is an important part of recovery from an eating disorder. This group provides a chance to review and increase skills as well as time to share problems, struggles, and successes during the recovery process.
