James Bakker, MSW, LGSW
Licensed Graduate Social Worker
I provide therapy services for adolescents and adults navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and life transitions. I am also passionate about supporting neurodiverse individuals and helping them build on their unique strengths. In addition to individual therapy, I help facilitate the Adult Depression, Anxiety, and Trauma Intensive Outpatient Program. My professional experience spans community mental health, higher education, and early childhood settings, providing me with a broad perspective on the diverse challenges individuals face across different stages of life.
I utilize an integrative approach that combines strengths-based, cognitive, mindfulness-based, and somatic interventions to create a personalized therapeutic experience. I strive to foster a collaborative, welcoming environment where clients feel empowered to explore their experiences, process challenges, develop new skills, and gain deeper insight into their mental health and well-being. My practice is culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and affirming of all identities. I am committed to creating a safe and supportive space where clients can feel seen, valued, and understood as they work toward meaningful growth and healing.
