About Us

Join our Team!

Water’s Edge Counseling & Healing Center was founded with the vision of a safe, confidential, homelike environment where individuals can come for help on their journey of healing. We treat a broad range of mental health issues but offer specialized treatment programs for eating disorders, depression, anxiety and trauma for both adolescents and adults.

We believe that ultimate healing happens when one approaches healing from a biological-psychological-social-spiritual (whole-person) perspective. What this means for your care is that your provider will inquire into factors associated with biological, psychological, social and spiritual functioning. Then an individualized plan for treatment will be created that appropriately addresses areas of concern.

Your treatment will include a variety of therapeutic interventions that will be selected based on your unique situation. Examples of procedures/types of therapy that we use include evidenced based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Family-Based Eating Disorder Treatment (for children/adolescents), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Trauma, Mindfulness training (this is different than meditation techniques) and life skills consistent with those taught in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Many of our providers are also trained or certified in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy which is a body-informed talk therapy that has been shown to be very helpful in the treatment of trauma as well as developmental wounding. Additionally, our Registered/Licensed Dietitians and Certified Chaplain are available to address nutritional needs and spiritual directions as you and your therapist determine appropriate.

With regards to spirituality, Water’s Edge CHC believes that spiritual beliefs and practices can have a strong influence on recovery. As part of the whole-person approach to care, we have staff and resources to help integrate your spiritual beliefs as you desire. There is a specific track of care for individuals whose beliefs align with Christianity. For those whose beliefs are different than Christianity, we will work with you to identify the resources within your belief system that may be helpful for you to access during your journey of healing.

Our team of compassionate professionals knows that each individual is unique and so is their journey. Regardless of where you are in your journey, we are dedicated to walking with you on your way to recovery. Reclaim your life, we can help.
